Condo Board

Condo board members have many responsibilities, including: 

  • Decision-making
    Board members make decisions that benefit the homeowners, such as whether to replace roofs, install security cameras, or take legal action against owners 
  • Financial management
    Board members review the financial status of the community and decide whether to increase charges or get financing 
  • House rules
    Board members create house rules for the association 
  • Maintenance
    Board members monitor and ensure proper building maintenance and repairs.
  • Project management
    Board members hire workers, security guards, and contractors as needed.
The president of the condo board has the most responsibility and is responsible for calling meetings and deciding what items to include on the agenda. 
Condo property managers also have many responsibilities, including: 
  • Conflict management: Property managers mediate conflicts between parties 
  • Financial management: Property managers ensure the community’s financial well-being 
  • Communication management: Property managers act as the common source of communication between residents, board members, and other property managers
